*Tag* you’re it
I haven’t played tag since I was a kid. But I’ve been challenged to an Internet version of the game by the lovely Lenore who writes the Eclectic Glob of Tangential Verbosity.
The rules are simple:
- Post 10 random things about yourself
- Choose five people to tag and a reason you chose them and make sure to tell them
- Don’t tag the person who tagged you
OK, so this may sound like one of those MySpace bulletins we all groan at. But I think it’s a cool way for you to get to know me better, and in turn for me to get to know you better. I’ll follow the rules and tag five people, but I want any and all of you to post some random things about yourself in my comment section. Let’s all play along.
Me first.
- I actually enjoy ironing. I even iron my jeans.
- If it has raspberries in it, I’m eating it.
- I collect magnets (feel free to send me one).
- I get chills when I say the Pledge of Allegiance.
- I take my coffee with cream and two Splendas
- When I was about 6 or 7, I was bit by my friend’s doberman. I still have the scar. I hated dogs until a couple of years ago because of it.
- I like taking pictures of my feet in the random places that I go. It serves as a cool place marker when I look back through my photos.
- I love to plant flowers, but half way through the summer I usually flake out on watering them and they all die.
- The first concert I ever saw was Hootie and the Blowfish. I won tickets on the radio when I was in high school. I saw Hootie again last summer, because I had to cover the concert for the newspaper I worked for on Hilton Head Island.
- The only office I ever ran for was student council in high school and I lost.
OK. Now all I have to do is pick five people to tag, but I think I’m going to break the rules and only choose three. I pick:
- Mike from absent.canadian because he always shares fun, random details on his blog.
- Brandy from My Life on Camera Phone. She’ll probably answer in pictures instead of words.
- Ashley Sue from Green Grounded. Who knows what she’ll come up with.
And I’m not making this a one-sided game. You can all play along. So tell me something random about yourself.

What I'm Doing

I finally blogged it, an hour later. I do too many things at once.

Great photo with the berry-colored tights!
I like your thought on the value of feet photos as a purposefully composed commemoration of your trips. Here’s one recent:

As for your student council thing — boy, those bring back other bad memories. In 8th grade I ran for prez and made a bunch of promises that couldn’t be kept (in particular: soda machines). Before the votes, teachers had to tell the students that I couldn’t do that. I didn’t get elected. In high school I was elected to an at-large seat but was nearly removed from office for missing too many meetings. I made the impassioned plea to the council to keep me on. They did, and I was completely useless the rest of the year anyway. I take my volunteer leadership positions very very seriously now that I am of grown-up age. I think that these school experiences must have shaped the new attitude.
Hootie, huhn? Twice, huhn?

You did a brilliant job and used lots of photos just like I expected. To see Brandy’s post, go here: http://iheartcameras.vox.com/library/post/ive-been-tagged.html

Actually, I’ve seen Hootie three times. The time I left out was at the Illinois State Fair when I was in college.

I find it interesting that people commented on your list instead of making their own (except via blog) as you requested. As I was reading the post I thought, “This would be a more interesting game if people built upon the list of the person who tagged them.” That way, people are connecting more. Maybe I’ll throw that idea into my laundry basket.

Hey Ginny,
It’s been a while since we were PAR classmates. Here’s something random: I can wiggle my ears.
I added you as a friend on Facebook. — Jenny Lee

Hey Ginny, I don’t know if you remember this, but I can say my ABC’s backwards in under 3 seconds…
Your blog is now added to “My Favorites” list, so I will be checking back in occasionally to see some of the fine, funny things you’re going to blog about. Oh, and I totally dig the foot view pictures too! MORE, MORE, MORE foot views please!!

I’m starting to get surprised by the coincidences on this list of random oddities. Three months ago I taught myself the backward ABCs while having trouble sleeping. But I still have to “think them through” in chunks, and it takes more like 15 seconds for me. I bow in the direction of Emily A.

Good Post Ginny…made my own list on My Blog

OK, I have to do this.
1 - Reading Ginny’s 10 random things list made me smile.
2 - Jellybeans are just balls of sugar… but I still love them.
3 - I am not flexible enough to bend down and touch my toes, but for some reason I am flexible enough to put my foot behind my head.
4 - My worst fear of how to die is drowning… and yet my favorite hobby is scuba diving.
5 - I know the capitals to all 50 states. You may think you do too, but I bet you don’t. Haha!
6 - I was “dumped” by my first “girlfriend” in 5th grade when I accidentally squirtted a ketchup packet all over her shirt. Smoooooth.
7 - My middle name is also the name of a car company.
8 - (stealing this subject from Ginny’s post) The first concert I ever went to was The Beach Boys. HELP ME RHONDA, HELP HELP ME RHONDA!
9 - I still enjoy a drinking a cold glass of milk all by itself. I know I’m not 10 yrs old anymore, but for some reason I still like it.
10 - In the last 11 years, I have never voted for a winning candidate for governor (of whatever state I’m living in at the time) or president. If I vote for them, they lose. Every time.
