Ginny from the Blog is a look at life in North Carolina’s Triangle area from my vantage point on NBC17’s assignment desk, where hundreds of news releases are filtered each day. I pick some of the most interesting and unusual items and share them with the masses. I also share other media accounts, blogs and life experiences that look at life in and around the Triangle.

About Me

I’m Ginny Skalski, a coffee-obsessed Raleigh dweller who works as a community content manager for NBC17/MyNC.com. I’m also the blogger behind 30THREADS, where I highlight the best local blogs and articles from around the Triangle each day.

I’m back in the Triangle after spending two years reporting for a daily newspaper on retiree-laden Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. Before that I covered city hall for The Herald-Sun in Durham. I lived in downtown Durham, a place I loved so much that I plastered a “Durham Love Yourself” sticker on my car.

You might not guess it by my love of the Triangle, but I’m an Illinois native. My other loves include politics, good coffee, singing in my car and talking to strangers.
